Project Description
The aim of the MOT Framework extensions project is to offer a variety of solutions for common 'boilerplate' development requirements and speed up the development process.

Ongoing discussions and information on the library is posted up to http://www.theministryoftechnology.co.uk

This project is a port of an older project known as the Silken Web .net Framework Extensions. The extensions were developed in order for me, initially, to put together boilerplate code templates for patterns that I had been using before and to brush up my VB.Net skills. Since then the project had become a bit of a monster so, with the establishment of The Ministry of Technology I thought the time had come to start reconstructing from scratch and to re-evaluate the value of each element. My other objectives were to…

  • Remove dependency between libraries
  • Isolate functional elements so that users can take what they need and leave the rest
  • Ensure valid offerings for all .net framework versions from 3.5 and above (dropping 2.0 support)
  • Unit test and redevelop each segment during port using TDD principles
  • Provide documentation by way of ‘how this could be useful’ blog entries for each element of the extensions as it goes in
  • Encourage feedback from users on features that they would like to see

The project can always benefit from more developers so if you think you have something to add to the project please just drop a mail to keith.jackson@theministryoftechnology.co.uk with details of your ideas and your Codeplex ID.
